10 years ago I started a small website called "The City" which covered skateboarding in New York and the news that affected it. 6 years ago when that website changed its name and focus to feature the raw local talent through video clips, it became Metrospective.com. After a number of earth-shattering events and tragedies that scarred New York skateboarding deeply, I hosted the first All City Skate Jam in an effort to bring back some old memories and spark some new ones. It became clear that the times had changed, the past was history, and the Official New York skateboarding website took on a new role.

It isn't about who's got the baggiest pants, the techest trick, the hottest am, the weakest pro, or even the dopest spots. What it is about is skateboarding in New York and the skaters in it. I'm not looking to cover every ollie, kickflip, or 360 flip that's ever been done in NYC but what you see here will give you a good idea of what people are up to and the spots they skate.. from the new up and coming kid to the long retired pro of the 90's. So have a look around, hang out a bit and see what there is to see.

( Updates are every 3 weeks, or when i feel like it )

If you're interested in contributing NYC footage feel free to drop me an email and I'll hook you up with the details.

If you're interested in contributing non-NYC footage and want to let people know where you're coming from, I'm working on a project "the City Dispenser Network" where it features footage, news, and talk about various cities around the world from the eyes of their locals.
