In case you haven't seen it, a new skatepark opened up in the LES right under the Manhattan Bridge. Currently has a curved rail, a rail with a kink in it, a manny pad/lowledge, a step up ledge, a pyramid with a flatbar on top, a recycled plastic picnic table (i think it had angle iron), and a recycled plastic jersey barrier. I hear there may be more stuff coming. But if they didn't add anything else, it'd still be sick as-is. I really don't suggest sitting on the big stairs, it reeks of decaying rat carcasses, garbage, and other assorted odors.
Here's some crappy photos of the place.

It's right down the street from the Chinatown Manny, in the park with the hubba that Jamie Thomas, Pat Smith, and Dan Pensyl killed.

it's pre-fab, but it's shit you'd actually want to skate, no crazy 10 foot tall xgames launch ramps or loops. it could use a few banks and quaterpipes so you don't have to work so hard to get speed for the pyramid.
word is that they put it together and opened it 2 days ago.

The loop should be standard in all new skateparks. It is what will seperate the weak and the stupid from the ones who have common sense. It is skateboarding's answer to population control.

the 4,5,6 train is just as far from the tf, yet people still make the skate out there.
there is a good chance this is going to be the new tf.

As of today, it already is the new TF. There were more people there today than there are on average at the TF. I always said fuck the tf and I say fuck this place too. It's a good thing it's there though, so maybe next time a new spot opens downtown, it won't turn into a daycare center and become a bust within 2 weeks.

the best train to take there is the F to east brodway. if your going bronx bound, be in the back,if brooklyn bound in the front, when you get out, its like 3 blocks away
