Long time no post but some might remember my bits on Stamford & Bristol. This is what I saw on Thursday. In my opinion, if you're going to build a skatepark get the shotcrete treatment.

The snake - leg burn, speed ... and a pool corner/hip if you can reach it. Not as tame as the original plans.

this will have tile/pool coping

Cattle chute street section

Neither, it'll be run by the hudson river trust, not sure how the pay to play thing will go, but the forms for a turnstyle type entrance are already poured.

I was under the impression from various people including site design, who designed the park, that it would be free. I'm sure there will be a helmet requirement, but if its free I can deal with that aspect. Does anyone have info that says otherwise?

I was told spring 2010, in order to complete the other stuff going on the pier. But the skatepark should be ready to skate in less than a month. Thats a shitty answer and if I find out otherwise in the next couple of days I'll post up.
