CCS has a warehouse based out of Pennsylvania... I once ordered something from them and I gave them my cell phone number instead of my home number so they called me to verify info and I asked them where they ship the orders from. He said PA. I was shocked because I always thought that they shipped shit from the west coast.
The CCS office is in Manhattan, where quite a few nyc/tri-state area locals work.

So what our picnic table(which took 2 of my friends 4hrs to carry to our spot), our grindrail and our barricade were robbed by them. I have nothing against aggressive rollerbladers. Just fruitbooters.

Quote:
The season's second Williamsburg Walks took place this weekend (last Saturday was rained out), with Bedford Avenue closed to traffic from North 4th to North 9th Streets. Community groups set up tables, chairs, blankets and pillows for passers-by to linger and chat, and an atmosphere of peaceful conviviality prevailed—until the teenagers came with their accursed skateboards! With its indoor half-pipe, the KCDC skate shop on Wythe has been a magnet for skaters for years now, and on Saturday the place was packed for Go Skateboarding Day, with hundreds of youths rolling over to Bedford to gleam the cube.
At times the constant stream of skaters swelled to a critical mass of hundreds, with some tables and barricades getting knocked over in the flood. Also: LOUD! Reacting to the incessant swarm, Williamsburg local Paul Wegimont says, "I don't have any vendetta against skateboarders, but when the street is closed down and you have tables set up and small children out there then you shouldn't be allowed to blaze through on your skateboard. It's borderline dangerous." Wegimont thinks police should require skateboarders and cyclists to dismount and walk, and given cops' instinctive tendency to hassle skaters and bikers, we don't see why this shouldn't happen. After all, it's Williamsburg Walks, not Williamsburg Shreds.
But Ryan Kuonen at Neighbors Allied for Good Growth [NAG], which co-organizes Williamsburg Walks with the L Magazine, insists the previous Saturday wasn't nearly as saturated with skaters. She tells us, "It would have been nice if they'd been more respectful. But I'd hate to see rules implemented to bar someone from politely cruising through on a bike or skateboard." Okay, we'll see how it goes this Saturday, but if armies of skaters start marauding through again, we're stringing up some tripwire.

I'm sure it was surprising and disruptive no matter how brief, but we all know that no harm was intented. While the two activities/events do contradict each other in terms, I think they may be over-reacting just a little.
However I do agree that if they have the block barricaded off and have a street closure permit (as did KCDC for GSD) they should have the right to ask people to pass through the way they deem fit whether it be by foot, board, bike, pogo stick, alpaca or whatever. A better idea would be to not permit them passage past the barricades at all. Hopefully they communicate this to their security so that a misunderstanding like this isn't experienced in the future.
I don't think they caught the main group of kids passing through their event, just some, imagine how they'd react if they had. I'm actually surprised kids decided to skate down bedford at all since it's normally traffic heavy as opposed to the less congested side streets.
I doubt this will happen next year since this year was a rain date, and next year June 21st falls on a Monday. The next time go skateboarding day falls on a weekend is 2014 and 2015, so unless there's another rain date we'll have to wait til then to see if this issue resolves itself..
Needless to say, avoid Bedford Ave this Saturday.

Sorry for the delay, there's a lot of (bad) footage to go through, but here's a preview clip until i wrap it up..

To be completely honest, like every year, there really won't be much in terms of tricks.
