all those other borough have skateparks. all queens has is forest park, and that doesn't even count as a skatepark. but more parks are better, just saying queens needed one bad. i am all for building more parks in other boroughs too. that indoor one in SI needs to happen!

oh, and i'll hit you up about coming through SI to skate with your 540 spinning, tazmanian devil self this weekend, leo.

SI is also getting that park at the pier, which from what I heard will be a better park than the indoor one.

They considered Riverside as a possible site for the 2010 Maloof NYC, glad they picked Queens.

Actually Riverside sounded better to me than Flushing....Sucks that we dont know when exactly the park is open to everybody...they need an unsponsored top locals contest but shit is politics these days.....

All I know is that the indoor park project is being headed up by an OG BMX guy, but I do know Pang was getting involved last year (not sure about now that he moved to Cali), we met with the BMX guy and he said there was going to be features for both skateboarders AND/OR bmx riders. No news on the pier other than it is getting a skate park as part of the renovation of that entire area. As with anything, nothing is ever final until it's done.

they have broken ground for it recently. i asked a construction worked when it was scheduled to be done. he said "supposedly in 6 months. SUPPOSEDLY." with emphasis on that word, it is implied that it probably won't be done for a lot longer than that.

you forgot the wildcard skaters:
danny falla & eli reed

danny better win this...though zared or eli are acceptable winners too. maybe westgate would be acceptable too, since that is my guess to win. i want to see the cali dudes go down! no homo. Wink
